Small Mammal Pot, Gaping Gill

Route finding is a bit tricky; rough instructions are:

  1. Go down pitch
  2. Leave chamber down hole opposite Stile Pot scaffolding and follow obvious passage for about 5m to before it starts to descend
  3. Instead of following the obvious descent (this is The Warren), go under the right wall into Flowstone Chamber.
  4. Clamber up into the bedding plane using the chockstone in the narrow rift at the far end of the chamber
    1. For simplest connection to Bar Pot: Keep left in the bedding, avoiding holes, to come out at the bottom of Bar Pot entrance pitch.
    2. For easiest connection to Bar Pot: Drop into the pit straight ahead in the bedding and follow the most obvious hole down to find the top of the Greasy Slab.
    3. For the full Small Mammal Pot experience: Keep right in the bedding, and climb down into the rightmost pit. Go down a hole at the bottom to find a 10m shaft (15m rope required). Go down this pitch and then a further 3m climb, followed by a flat-out crawl. Emerge in Whitehall, which should be followed to the end, at which point a short bedding crawl on the left enlarges to the head of the Big Pitch in Bar Pot.
